Dr. Baker Honored with 2026 CERRT 'SPARK' Award

The Center of Excellence in RNA Research and Therapeutics (CERRT) recognized Kristian Baker, PhD, as the recipient of the 2026 CERRT SPARK Award (Significant Progress Advancing RNA Knowledge Award). Dr. Baker is honored for her outstanding contributions to education, mentorship, and RNA research on investigating the quality-control processes that regulate cellular RNAs. A dedicated mentor and advocate for the scientific community, Dr. Baker serves as the CEO of the RNA Society since 2020, providing leadership and supporting the growth of the RNA field worldwide.

The 2026 CERRT SPARK award celebrated Dr. Baker's scientific contributions, leadership, and dedication to fostering the next generation of RNA researchers. On July 29th, NYS Senator Patricia Fahy honored this year’s CERRT’s SPARK Award Winner Dr. Baker during the 2026 RNA Day Summer Celebration.
