The CERRT and NYDMC teams attended the 2025 MDF Gala at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City, where the event raised a record-breaking 2 million to advance research and support for families affected by myotonic dystrophy.

In collaboration with Girls Inc. Eureka!® at UAlbany, the CERRT participated in a unique program that provides girls with an introduction to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education through an intensive summer camp experience. Over the four days of this unique summer camp, participants gained hands-on experience with live cell culture, performed nucleic acid isolation from strawberries, and ran nucleic acids on an agarose gel. They also learned about RNA Modifications and HPLC techniques, experienced how 3D computer modeling is used for predicting RNA structures.

More than 300 attendees gathered for the annual "All that Jazz" gala hosted by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) at the Glen Sanders Mansion, Albany. This year's gala raised more than $180,000 to support muscular dystrophy research across New York. Funds raised this year will be shared between UAlbany's RNA Institute, the University of Rochester, and Albany Medical College to support the 'AI & Therapeutics for DM research program.

On May 21, 2025, the CERRT showcased the cutting-edge technologies and collaborative projects involving RNA and AI at the SUNY State of the Union Campus Showcase event at The Egg, in Albany NY.

In recognition of International Myotonic Dystrophy (DM) Awareness Day, NY landmarks including State Capitol, The Egg, Niagara Falls were illuminated in green to raise awareness. CERRT proudly sponsored this initiative supporting education and outreach through distribution of cookies, information materials, and DM resources to local hospitals and medical centers.

The CERRT welcomed the 2025 National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) eXperience students from around the country for an event at the RNA Institute and introduced the students to biomanufacturing and biomedical research pathways, and discussed STEM-focused careers in biomanufacturing. UAlbany hosted its 3rd annual Showcase on April 30, 2025, the CERRT and the RNA Institute were well represented with many trainees presenting and a table to showcase the numerous training programs, internships, and co-ops available to both undergraduate and graduate students in the field of RNA Research.
