Myotonic Dystrophy Mini Symposium With Focus on Newborn Screening

New York Myotonic Dystrophy Center (NYDMC), part of the Center of Excellence in RNA Research & Therapeutics) brought together researchers from across the country for a symposium focused on newborn screening for myotonic dystrophy (DM) and advancing sequencing techniques to gain a deeper understanding of the disease. Attendees included clinicians, academic scientists, and industry representatives involved in developing therapeutics for myotonic dystrophy. The event was co-organized by NYDMC and Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation. This event reflected on the exciting progress made towards the approval of targeted drugs for DM and also featured a discussion on unlocking the future of early diagnosis of myotonic dystrophy. Experts shared their valuable insights and research, with discussions on how to collaborate effectively to ensure these advancement share the future of DM treatment and care.
